ACSI Math Olympics

Wooster Christian School participated in the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) Math Olympics for grades 3-8 on March 18, 2008.   A total of 299 students from nine north central Ohio Christian schools were a part of this written competition that assesses both mathematical computation and reasoning. The top five students in each category were ranked and received ribbons.  The following Wooster Christian students excelled in their respective categories:  Third Grade Computation—Rayne Leiner (First Place), Zacary Harley (Second Place), Jordan McConnell (Third Place); Third Grade Reasoning—Austin McCully (First Place), Jacob McConnell (Second Place);  Fourth Grade Computation—Josiah Talampas (Second Place), Zachary Fritts (Fifth Place); Fourth Grade Reasoning---Chase Hunyadi (First Place), Hannah Falkenberg (Second Place); Fifth Grade Computation---Jocelyn Hunyadi (First Place), Tirzah Talampas (Second Place); Fifth Grade Reasoning---Joshua Dunham (First Place),      Blaine Hamilton (Third Place); Sixth Grade Computation---Hana Ji (First Place); Seventh Grade Computation—Caitlin Curtis (Fifth Place) and  Eighth Grade Reasoning—Ben Benekos (Second Place).  In addition to receiving ribbons, third graders Rayne Leiner and Austin McCully, fourth grader Chase Hunyadi, fifth grader Jocelyn Hunyadi and sixth grader Hana Ji received medals for their high percentage (85% or higher) computational or reasoning achievement.
