ACSI Music Festival
Wooster Christian School musicians from the fifth and sixth grades participated in the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) Elementary Music Festival held at Medina Christian Academy on Friday, April 25, 2008. This was the first time the school participated in an adjudicated event at this level. Nine northeast Ohio Christian schools took part in this showcase of musical talent for grades 3– 8.
The Wooster Christian Choir composed of twenty-four fifth and sixth graders received a “superior” blue ribbon rating for their presentation. The following solos and ensembles received “superior” blue ribbon evaluations:
Sarah Patching, Rachel Stallard and Alexis Webber—Girls’ Trio
John Goff—Trumpet Solo
Katherine Schmidle—Piano Solo
“Excellent” red ribbon ratings were earned by:
Logan Bowers, Blaine Hamilton, and Zachary Zemrock-van der Meer—Boys’ Trio
Savannah Chaffee and Mariah Tiano—Girls’ Duet
An additional honor, “Best in Class” was awarded to the Hunyadi/Talampas Girls’Duet and to John Goff’s Trumpet Solo.
