Coins for Cambodia

This story is proof that even the smallest gifts (and smallest givers) can make a difference.

Mrs. Kim Steiner teaches two of our preschool classes at Grace Church, and Mrs. Bri Weirick teaches the other two at our main location at Church of the Saviour.  The four classes worked together on a missions project to benefit Sending Hope International.

The students made coin banks in class and brought in change from home to fill their banks.  The project was called "Coins for Cambodia."  The Sending Hope ministry was founded by Pastor Dave Atkins and his wife Joyce, who teaches middle school Social Studies at WCS.  They describe the organization as "a Christian ministry passionately dedicated to bringing hope and transformation to the world's most at risk children."  Together, the classes raised over $300 for the ministry.  The Weirick family treated Pastor Atkins to frozen yogurt at OH-YO and gave him the money the classes had raised.
